I am your business coach, jackie Murphy. This is episode number nine how to make your dream business a reality in 2025.
Speaker 1:When this episode airs, it will be the week of Thanksgiving in the US, which also means Black Friday, cyber Monday and really this intense spending period. For so many consumers. It's the last few weeks of the year and those last few weeks lead into the biggest few weeks of the year for our industry, when we see a lot of clients and students come back or recommit to their wellness routines come January. So I want to say all this to you, because if you, in any way whatsoever, have been thinking, oh, I will just take a little break, pull my foot off the gas and recommit or restart my own goals in 2025, you cannot do that. I cannot stress enough how important the last few weeks of 2024 are and the first few weeks of 2025 will be. I have seen businesses that have doubled their entire revenue for the year in the last month. I have seen businesses who have made their entire 12-month revenue in January. But that cannot happen if you are pulling back, taking your foot off the gas and telling yourself, oh, like I'll double down, I'll refine my skills, I'll commit to my business once the calendar turns. That is what so many of your potential students are doing, so take this message to them as well. Would you want them to wait on their health and well-being? No, especially not during the holidays, where we need to be mentally, emotionally and physically well to enjoy this time of year.
Speaker 1:So put your foot back on the gas, get back in the game, and we are going to start to talk about what it would take to make your dream business a reality next year. Are you ready to claim 2025 as your year? Yes, I can hear you responding to me it is going to be your best year in your business. But here's the truth your dream business isn't going to build itself. There is a big difference between someone who wants to have a dream business, who wants to grow big next year, and someone who is willing and fully committed to making it happen. So, in order for you to make your dream business a reality, you are going to be required to step up, because this isn't about more tips or another strategy or a quick tactic or sale that you can implement in your business, or another strategy or quick tactic or sale that you can implement in your business. This is about something much more sustainable and much more long term, so that you can make any tip, any sale, any strategy work effectively for you. First, let's talk about why 2025 is going to be the perfect year to claim as the year you make your dream business a reality.
Speaker 1:2025 is going to be the year that you really start to see our industry grow even more. According to Allied Market Research, the global yoga and Pilates industry is projected to hit $215 billion by the end of 2025. So the industry is evolving. The demand is incredibly high, but it's not just demand for free classes all levels. People are starting to seek high quality, transformational wellness experiences. People are looking for community and connection, but I want to highlight this word again People are looking for transformation. This means that there's opportunity for you to step up and meet that demand, but it may require you to shift, because you can't play small or operate just on hope anymore.
Speaker 1:Too often I see yoga teachers saying oh, I'll just keep teaching class, I'll teach a few more classes and I hope more people will show up. Or I might make a few Instagram posts and start to do a little marketing and maybe that will grow. That energy right there, that maybe, that hope, that wishing, that wanting is almost a sure sign that it's not going to happen. Because underlying all of that shows you that there is a lack of belief in your inevitable success and more belief in your potential failure. And you really have to make sure that, if you want to take your dream business and make it a reality, if you want to capitalize on 2025 being your chance to stop hoping and really start building a solid, profitable, sustainable business, then you have to step up. Your business has the potential to be more than just a place where people come to move. It has the potential to be a thriving, transformational community, a hub that supports your clients and fulfills you financially and personally. So when I say step up, what am I talking about? What do I mean? Not talking about the wonderful dance movie that came out, probably in the 2000s, called Step Up, although a great film, if you know it, send me a message on Instagram at the business of yoga. What you have to do to step up in 2025 and make your dream a reality is you have to step up and become the studio CEO.
Speaker 1:Now, I've talked about this on the podcast. You're going to hear me talk about a lot, but the word studio comes from the Latin word studium, which means zeal, passion or enthusiasm, and so many of us get into our businesses because it is what we are passionate about, it's what your soul's calling is, and so you are following your passion and you start to teach, but you stop feeling that passion when you get into the hustle and the grind and the day-to-day of it In order to take your dream and make it a reality next year. What you have to realize is that passion isn't something that just happens to come to you in great moments and then isn't there in other moments. Passion and zeal and enthusiasm for your business is actually a feeling that you need to cultivate on purpose every single day, meaning when you don't feel like running payroll or you don't feel like giving feedback to a teacher or you don't feel like teaching one more class. Can you intentionally step up into that passion, zeal and enthusiasm and take ownership for how you feel in your business every single day? And in order to do this, you're going to need a compelling why, and probably way more than just one compelling why, if there's a moment in your business that you are in that stuck energy of dread and hustle and disappointment or frustration, you have to take that moment, become intentional and remind yourself why you're doing that thing right then. Is it for the student who's experienced a radical transformation with you Lives change in your business? Is it so that you can make more money to take your kids on a vacation next year? That's a why. Is it so that you can go to the coffee shop and get yourself a nice little latte as a treat? That could be your why. There is a magnitude of whys out there that you can choose from, and I just want you to use that as your tool to anchor in the passion and the zeal that you feel. But it's time that you take that passion and use your zeal. It's time that to take your soul's calling and turn it into a thriving business and not just a hobby. You can really step up when you embody the CEO.
Speaker 1:A CEO isn't someone who owns the business. That's not what it means. A CEO is someone who is there with the business, leading with vision, confidence and clarity. Every single day, they take ownership and full responsibility of the business. They are making strategic decisions and they're thinking big picture strategy and then they're showing up as a leader. So if you have this dream of a business. You wanna make 50K every month. You want a team that supports you. Maybe you wanna lead eight retreats next year and hire other teachers to help you lead those retreats.
Speaker 1:The one thing that you have to make sure that you're doing every single day is embodying in your bones the studio CEO, this passionate, enthusiastic leader who's anchored in confidence and vision and takes ownership of everything in the business. Now, this is not an easy thing to do, because you're human and you're going to have days where maybe you haven't slept as much, or you haven't been on your mat in a while, or you haven't drinking enough water and you just feel kind of off. And on those days you need the tools, the skills and, most importantly, the support to help you shift back into that leader mindset, back into the embodiment of a studio CEO. Let me give you a really clear example of this. If you have tasks in your business that continually don't get completed, let's say that you want to launch your own podcast, but you've been talking about it for over a month. Or you have a high ticket offer you want to put out there, but it's not happening. Or maybe you're just not doing your sales calls. That is the opposite of embodying the studio CEO, and I get it. This is not a guilt trip or I'm not shaming you in any way whatsoever. I just want to paint a picture for you that it is possible that you are such a leader You're so passionate, on purpose, about what it is that you're doing that the task you put on your to-do list or in your calendar get done no matter what, and your business moves forward every single day and every single week, and those little inches that you take every single day to move you forward end up being miles by the end of the year. But you will be required to hold yourself to a higher standard that most people are not willing to do, which is why most people are not listening to this podcast and most people are not trying to grow their business. You are out there attempting something that is respectable and important, and I want you to know that you've got what it takes. You can do this, and you might have to intentionally shift 10 times a day to embody the studio CEO. You might have to intentionally shift once a day to always be in that place, but wherever you are, it is worth it to shift Now.
Speaker 1:So many of us struggle with this because we didn't start to run a business. We started because this was our passion or we started because we wanted to help people, and now we're finding ourselves in learning meta ads and none of it makes sense to us. Most of us weren't taught the business skills necessary to even execute as a studio CEO. Well, meaning, you don't exactly know what to say in your marketing to get people's attention. Or if you were on a sales call, you don't know the words to say, step one to step nine, to have that person buy from you and actually convert to a paying client. But the thing is, with those things, those are all learnable skills. You can learn the skill of creating an aligned offer, the skill of marketing, saying the right words to get your right students attention meaning the students who want to be there, who want to pay you. And you can learn the skill of selling so that you can easily have a sales conversation with one person or with 50 people and never once wonder how do I respond to that? What are they going to ask? What do I say next? So if you want to embody the studio CEO identity, one of the things that just action items you'll have to do is master those business skills so that you can take action with confidence. We talked about. The CEO shows up with confidence and vision, but if you don't know what to do, it is incredibly hard for you to be confident about what you're doing. So the first set of skills that I think you have to prioritize is your leadership skills your ability to lead yourself, set a direction, make your team, inspire your team and make strong, clear decisions. Then you have to have the marketing and selling skills that we talked about knowing how to attract your ideal clients, communicate the value of your offer and turn interest into commitment.
Speaker 1:Hubspot reports that businesses with strong marketing strategies are likely to grow 13% more year over year. Do you? Businesses with strong marketing strategies, are likely to grow 13% more year over year? Do you have that strong marketing strategy in place and do you have the skills to execute that strategy? Speaker 1:The next skill that you're going to have to have is the skill of financial management, meaning. If you're the person who's been like I don't like numbers, I don't know my numbers that needs to change. You are going to get really familiar with knowing your revenue, your expenses, your profit margins and really understanding how to celebrate your business. Based on the financials, most businesses grow, on average, 10% year over year. Now my clients, they're having growth from 40% year over year to 250% year over year and even greater. And that's not standard in the outside world, outside of coaching, outside of the business of yoga. So if you can look at your numbers and say, wow, my year over year revenue growth was 10%, that's average, that's amazing, I'm on track. Or my year over year revenue growth was 10%, that's average, that's amazing, I'm on track. Or my year over year revenue growth was greater than 10%, like I'm really crushing it. You need to be able to understand that well and let the numbers tell you a story that support you, versus always being like I don't know what's happening.
Speaker 1:The next skill that you have to have is a skill of time management learning how to schedule tasks, complete the task and prioritize high impact tasks, tasks that you can take and do quickly, and learn how to delegate. In a few weeks, I'm going to release a podcast. Is that a few weeks from now? Yes, so I think actually it's next week, and next week there'll be a podcast all about having a productive routine and a little bit of bio Whoa, that was Southern. A little bit about how I am a mom to a three-year-old, a two-year-old and we just got a puppy, and I run my business. And I know, while you may relate to me maybe you're a mom or you have a puppy or you just have a busy schedule I know that what you really want to know is how I set up my time, how do I set up my calendar, how do I make sure everything gets done. Speaker 1:These skills that I just mentioned leadership skills, marketing and selling skills, your financial skills, your time management skills they're not nice to have. It's not like oh, that would be such a luxury to invest and learn those skills. They are actually essential to you running a sustainable business year after year after year, and they're all learnable. Now you don't need to master every skill right at once, but you do need to develop in the area that your business needs it the most Like are you really in need of new students? Do you have new students but they're not converting? Are you really in the need to learn how to lead team meetings and track KPIs, or is your schedule crazy and you really need to learn time management? You can prioritize what skill you focus on but then master every skill as you go.
Speaker 1:You have to take aligned, effective action as the studio CEO based off of those skills, so you can't just take any action. You can't just show up and work and whatever comes up on your plate you get done that day. What you have to say is I am the passionate leader with a clear vision. I'm mastering the skill that's going to move my business forward the most and I'm going to take aligned action based on that skill. What will happen is that, instead of spending hours tweaking your website, you are going to focus on the relationships you have with your current clients and selling them into a premium value offer to increase your overall client value. Or, instead of underpricing out of fear, you're going to master the skill of selling so you can confidently communicate what your membership is worth, charge accordingly and increase your monthly reoccurring revenue, your MRR. Or maybe that, instead of trying to do everything yourself and learn it all yourself and learn from the free stuff, that you master the skill of investing and you free up time for what matters most, because you have the support that you need.
Speaker 1:So you're always asking yourself is this action I'm taking right now aligned with the vision, aligned with the dream that I have for 2025? And if not, you let it go, don't think twice about it and you refocus on what will actually create momentum, even if you don't feel like doing that thing. So one of the most important things that we haven't touched on yet is that you need to decide what is your dream business in 2025? What does success mean to you next year? Think about it, map it out and take a moment to imagine what is possible when you fully become and embody the studio CEO every single day. Picture yourself at the end of 2025. Your business can be thriving Five-figure monthly recurring revenue, your programs are sold out, your finances are organized and clear, your clients aren't just attending classes, but they're showing up in community with each other and they're raving about the transformations they've had over the past year. And you, you're showing up to your business with confidence, with clarity and more ease than ever before.
